Harvard Law School (also known as Harvard Law or HLS) is one of the professional graduate schools of Harvard University. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it is the oldest continually-operating law school in the United States and is home to the largest academic law library in the world.

Pearson Hardman has policy of hiring only associates that graduated from HLS. The rule was waived only in cause of Rachel Zane (unofficialy also in case of Mike Ross). As discussed by professional lawyers, it is unrealistic for a law firm to have such a strict policy (as far as alumni of Columbia University, Yale University, etc. are on the same level), however it is apparently for dramatic purposes of the series. Similarly, Darby International hires only alumni of HLS or Oxford University.
