Rev. James Thompson is a reverend in North Park, Chicago who made his sole appearance in "The Deputy Mayor".
History[]
- "She prayed for you for years, and here you are."
"Well, she and I have a lot to catch up on."
"Yeah, well, no better place to do it than with the family of God. I can save you a seat on Sunday?"
"Oh, that's very kind of you, but I think I'll start with finding her a new place to live."
"Well, look at us. We're on the same page. That's why I'm here. Knocking on doors, seeing who I can help." - ―James Thompson to Jessica Pearson
James Thompson is a reverend pastor that serves the local church in North Park, Chicago. He meets Jessica Pearson as she leaves Lillian Cook's apartment, recognizing her and adding that Lillian had prayed on her behalf for years. He invites her to church on Sunday, although she politely declines, adding that she wants to find the Cooks a new place to live. Thompsons explains that he has been doing the same, knocking on every door in the neighborhood and offering his help. Jessica asks him what he knows about Carl Jeffries; he initially hesitates, but relents when Jessica explains she does not work for the police. Thompson discloses that Carl, who did not have much money, suddenly owned a Range Rover after dropping the North Park lawsuit against the city. As they talk, Thompson notices Nick D'Amato watching them, and bids Jessica farewell.
He later meets Jessica again when Jessica decides to come to church with the Cooks, the pair smiling at the other's presence. He then welcomes the attendees and introduces the choir, led by Angela Cook, and observes the performance.[1]
