Synopsis
The legal battles faced separately by both Mike and his mentor seem best addressed through compromise, but opponents try to take advantage. Mike's situation involves a mock trial, with Jessica serving as Judge,
Harvey's story starts out as friendly merger talks initiated by one of his clients. The lawyer representing the other side turns out to be a old Harvard Law School lover (and rival) referred to as Scotty, hinting at Star Trek parallels.
The title, Play the Man, is a reference to knowing and playing specifically against your foe. Subtle Sun Tzu[1] and Star Trek/Kobayashi Maru[2] references hint at the direction toward resolution. Both lawyers succeed, but with different personal consequences for each.
