Simon Lowe is the owner of several malls and a former client of Harvey Specter who hired Daniel Hardman to sue Harvey and Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams after Harvey broke attorney-client privilege.
History[]
- "Now, this is happening, and I need Restoration to think that the Thomas deal is still on."
"I know how negotiations work, Simon."
"And I know how privilege works, so if you tell anyone about this, be it Thomas, or Alex, or the Queen of England, we'll be done." - ―Simon Lowe and Harvey Specter
Simon Lowe is the owner of several malls and was a client of Harvey Specter's. After losing a deal with Restoration Hardware, Simon approached Harvey to present Thomas Kessler with a lucrative deal to have Thomas Kessler Furniture stores anchor his mall, engaging in a handshake deal and publicly announcing their partnership. However, Simon privately informs Harvey that he is merely using Thomas as a stalking horse to entice Restoration Hardware to reinstate their initial deal. Harvey is angered by Simon's betrayal, although Simon reminds Harvey that since Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams also represents Thomas, Harvey is not allowed to inform Alex Williams of his tactic as it would be breaking attorney-client privilege.
However, Harvey breaks privilege to notify Alex anyways, and also shares the news with Donna Paulsen. As Donna is in a relationship with Thomas, who is passing on genuine offers due to his handshake deal with Simon, Donna notifies Thomas that Simon is using him as a stalking horse; as a result, Thomas honors an offer from another company and issues a public notice, prompting Simon to lose his leverage over Restoration. As a result, Simon fires Harvey and the firm and hires Daniel Hardman to sue them for breaking privilege.[1]
Simon's lawsuit is dropped after Harvey and Louis Litt find confidential emails Simon had made regarding board members, which causes the board to fire Simon. Simon and Hardman then attend an ethics hearing to have Harvey disbarred, although the case is officially settled by the New York State Bar when Robert Zane falsely claims responsibility for breaking privilege, leading to his license to practice law being revoked.[2]
