"I'll take your word for it, bro, and bring it on, because you might be a Harvard-educated lawyer, but I'm a Yale-educated lawyer, and the difference between me and you is I know the real money's in trading."
— Stu Buzzini to Louis Litt

Stuart "Stu" Buzzini is a stock market trader at Stevens Investment Group who once leased space at the Pearson Specter Litt building. A Yale-educated lawyer, he switched careers as he deemed stock trading a more financially feasible profession.

History[]

"Oh, and just so you know, when I put my money where my mouth is, I throw everything I have into it."
―Stu Buzzini to Donna Paulsen[src]

Following Mike Ross' plea deal and his incarceration for fraud, the entire staff of Pearson Spectre Litt walked out, leaving the facilities empty and 75 percent of it's revenue stream gone. In an effort to salvage the firm Louis and Jessica decided to sublet the space. After interviewing a number of smaller law firms all of whom Louis dismissed simply because he didn't want them occupying the bullpen, he successfully let the space to Stevens Investment Group, whom he thought was managed by the company's much older owner.

Louis met Stu as they rode the elevator together, Louis was immediately put off by Stu's brash frat-boy exterior as he spoke loudly and rudely on his cell phone while in the confined space fo the elevator. When they arrived on the same floor Stu clarified that his boss wasn't running their operation in the Pearson Spectre Litt offices, in fact he was, much to Louis' horror. For several weeks thereafter Louis was the butt of Stu's jokes, hazing, and ridicule with Stu and his team misusing Louis' personalized coffee mugs from the executive kitchen and later occupying the bullpen. Louis threatened to evict Stu and his entire staff for what he considered violations of their lease agreement.

As Louis and Harvey worked to untangle the mess involving the firm's representation of William Sutter, Louis devises a plan to have Stu's firm buy a majority share in a subsidiary so that Sutter's trades would then be conducted through Stevens Investment Group. This was the first of at least two occasions in which Pearson Specter Litt approached Stu about investing in a client's business. The second time came later when the board members of Jim Reynolds' company, Jessica's first client, sought to drop Pearson Spectre Litt despite Reynolds' wishes because the firm knowingly hired Mike Ross. Stu came through for the firm when he purchased enough of Reynolds' company to earn a seat on the board and threatened to have Donald Mannis, the instigator, removed from power.

Shortly before saving Reynolds' company, Stu approached Donna with advice on the best way to deliver bad news to Louis, when she inquired what it was he wouldn't tell her but noted that it wasn't good. That evening Stu approached Louis to let him know that with William Sutter arrested by the SEC for insider trading, SIG was losing a lot of money since they had bought them. They were offered Sutter's office building as collateral and his boss was ordering him to accept that offer, move out of the Pearson Spectre Litt building and relocate to Sutter's. Louis was incensed but Stu reminded him that their lease agreement had a 30 day out, Stu genuinely regretted having to move since his team had formed a good relationship with PSL but his boss required the relocation.

Personality[]

"The terms aren't gonna change."
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want to go into business with someone who feels like I'm giving them the shaft. I wanna go into business with someone who's happy with my partnership."
―Stu Buzzini and Donna Paulsen[src]

Initially thought of as brash and rude, Stu behaved like a stereotypical day trader on the floor of his company, interacting with the traders under his management like college fraternity brothers. However, after a series of clashes with Louis, Stu revealed his more straight laced and professional side. After a number of business agreements wherein the Harvey and Jessica brought some profitable investment tips to Stu that mutually benefitted Pearson Spectre Litt, Stu sought a much friendlier professional relationship with the whole PSL team and even sought Donna's advice on a number of occasions including burying the hatchet with Louis.
